Denise's Story
Okay, my story has been greatly revised over the past year or so. I was living in Connecticut the last time I updated my profile. I was living the classic East Coast suburb life until everything turned upside down. I lived on the East Coast for 20 years, living in NYC, NJ, and CT. I went to grad school and earned two Masters degrees as well as starting a private practice as a therapist. I got married and had three kids. That ends the resume part of my story. The truth is, life has been my greatest teacher. I had so much to learn about myself during those years. I've grown as a woman and a mother in so many ways. The more I discovered about myself, the more I grew apart from my husband until my marriage fell apart. In the past year, I separated from my husband and moved my life and my kids back to California. that in turning my life upside down and bravely heading in a new direction, my husband and I eventually healed some parts that were broken and I've discovered first hand that relationships are very complex. So, here I am, back in my home state and I'm loving it!! The California girl in me feels right at home being on the West Coast again. I loved the people I met and experiences I had on the East Coast....all of which will remain in my heart and memories forever. I was rather shy in High School which has shifted drastically at this point. I'm very outgoing now and love to live life to the fullest. Those of you in College may remember that I was a bit lost then. Luckily, I eventually found my way and am filled with gratitude as I say that all of those ups and downs in my life make me who I am. Now my motto is.... "Life is an Adventure!"
